Exciting news

About a month ago I applied to be a photographer for an organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I found out today that I was accepted! It's a great organization that provides free remembrance photographs for families who have lost a baby. Every time I look at their website I cry but I think it's such an amazing service.

Fun with Flash!

Normally when I shoot, I use mostly natural light but that is about to change. The other day I got some awesome stuff to use with my flash and I've been trying it out. I'm loving the results so far! It's been a good review for me on how to manipulate light. I can't wait to use this stuff more!

Bridal Veil Falls

This past weekend I went to Bridal Veil falls with some friends. They were all super nice about letting me take pictures of them while we were there. I've only been there one other time and I forgot how many great picture opportunities there are! I bet it's beautiful in the fall.

A day on the farm

I didn't really spend a day at the farm but I was seeing the sights with some friends in American Fork today, and those sights included a barn with lots of cows! I haven't spent much time around cows and I have to admit, a very large animal with horns kind of terrifies me. Luckily I was inside of the barn and the cows were outside. This particular one thought it was about to be fed and I think was also a little curious about my camera. :)

Ian

This is my brother Ian. He was so nice to model for me today. I can't believe he's already 13! I was older when he was born so I remember a lot of changing diapers and reading stories when he was young. I'm pretty sure he liked all of his siblings the same but I'd like to think that I was his favorite growing up :) (Just kidding Randi and Aaron!) As he's gotten older, I haven't had as many opportunities to do things with him. He seems to have become a teenager overnight. He's such a great kid and I really enjoyed spending time with him today!

Red Truck

The other day, my dad came home with a little surprise. He and my brother are so excited to fix up this old '66 FORD Econoline pickup. I was pretty happy to see this new addition in the driveway because I think it will make a great photo prop. (As soon as the tires and seats get put back on!)
